1. What services does CRYOPOINT actually offer?
Cryopoint offers a few different types of services. In the “Eisbox”, the body is exposed to temperatures of down to minus 150 degrees for up to 3 minutes. There are numerous benefits to be exposed to extreme colds, our customers report positive results in diet support, faster sports recovery, increased energy and anti-ageing effects. Cryospot and Cryoshaper help tighten the skin, reduce fat cells and increase collagen production. In addition to all applications, the BOA lymph massage is offered – a gentle pressure wave massage that helps to detox the lymphatic system.
2. Does CRYOPOINT have proven and documented operations manuscripts?
Since 2018, the operations have been systematically developed and tested in 2 of its own stores. The concept is however always being further developed, economically and organisationally, in 4 of its own reference stores in Hamburg and Berlin. All relevant work processes for day-to-day operations in the store to tools for marketing and all aspects of effective operational management are stored in the digital system manual, which is updated regularly.
3. Does CRYOPOINT have a unique selling proposition?
The unique selling proposition of CRYOPOINT results from three aspects. 1) A range of services that is optimally tailored to the needs of different customer groups. 2) A permanent head start in innovation because as a franchisor we have exclusive access to the technical developments from the leading manufacturers. 3) Last but not least, as a franchisor with a uniquely skilled team: A successful, sport-loving entrepreneur with franchise experience. A medical technology engineer with a high level of competence in this niche sector and a franchise expert with experience from around 300 franchise projects.
4. How many CRYOPOINT stores are already working and are there different types of business?
CRYOPOINT is currently available at 12 locations (as of 09/2020). Stores in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Hanover, Hamburg and Cologne are currently being prepared for opening. Due to inquiries already received from interested parties, there will probably be 30 locations nationwide by the end of 2021. The “Stand-Alone” type of operation requires an area of at least 80 square meters to be able to offer all services. The “shop-in-shop” type of business requires less space and is particularly suitable for integration in physical practices, fitness studios or wellness facilities.
5. What does CRYOPOINT do as a franchisor?
The head office regards itself as co-management in order to make each individual franchise partner economically successful over the long term. The basis for this is the support for system integration and store opening promised in the franchise agreement as set-up services as well as support services for operational management, marketing and technical support for long-term cooperation. The use of trademark rights, guaranteed territorial protection and framework agreements with suppliers, service providers, insurance companies, etc. also have a positive effect on the economic perspective.
6. Do I get information on the economic perspective as a franchise partner?
We take the pre-contractual duties to provide information very seriously and are always aware of our responsibility and possible implications of your decision to join the system. You will therefore actively receive information from us.
It is therefore understandable that we ask you to sign a confidentiality agreement and request some details about your personal and economic background via an internal information sheet.
7. What is the significance of the reservation agreement?
Before we conclude a franchise contract, we clarify together the contract area that will be exclusively protected for you in the future and agree on this in the reservation agreement. From this point on, we will support you in renting a suitable operating space and are available to answer all your individual questions about financing, training and shopfitting. The fee of 2,500 euros plus VAT charged by us for the reservation agreement will, of course, be offset against the entry fee when the franchise contract is concluded.
8. How do I get a suitable space for the store?
You know the local conditions and current developments in your city better than we do, and might have a network of contacts, regional brokers, landlords and property developers. We provide you with all the important criteria that should be met for a CRYOPOINT store. We check rental offers together with you for spatial and economic suitability. If this is the case, our shopfitter will take all the details in an on-site appointment in order to make you a precise offer for the complete expansion of the store and nothing stands in the way of the rental.
9. Will I be supported in getting sustainable financing and KfW funds?
An experienced consultant who is very familiar with the CRYOPOINT concept takes over the preparation of the project description according to the principles of proper planning (GoP). In addition to all the necessary descriptions of the project, the planning contains a detailed investment schedule, a profitability forecast for the first three financial years, a liquidity plan for the first 24 months and a proposal for the desired financing structure including suitable KfW programs. If you wish, the advisor can also accompany you to the bank meeting. The support is free of charge, you only have to reimburse the travel expenses to the bank appointment.
10. Is there support for planning and expanding the CRYOPOINT operation?
We work together with a competent company that has already produced several CRYOPOINT stores in accordance with the given corporate design reliably and on time. A detailed, system-specific building description provides planning security and protects against financial surprises and you get everything from a single source, from expansion to facade design. If the implementation of the corporate design is guaranteed, you can of course commission a construction company of your choice.
11. How is the training organized before the opening?
When the franchise agreement has become legally binding, we will work with you to create a project plan for the countdown to the opening. An important part of this is scheduling the training for you and the first team. The training is mainly planned as observation over eight working days, has a modular structure and takes place either in Hamburg or Berlin. In the first week after the opening, you will be supported by an experienced store manager from our ranks on site so that everything works smoothly from the start.
12. How much time elapses between the conclusion of the franchise agreement and the opening?
We have to calculate the exact time axis based on the individual starting situation; various factors also play a role that we can only influence to a limited extent. For example: preparation of the business plan, bank appointment and decision of the house bank, forwarding to KfW, processing and loan approval, delivery times for equipment, lead time for shopfitters and construction time on site, organization and procurement of materials for the opening, training, etc. Some tasks are timed parallel, others are interdependent. Experience has shown that we calculate a total of 15 to 20 weeks.
